In the daily handling of support cases, the version specifications of the affected software components are an essential information. In order to process your support request efficiently, it is important for the support analysts to know which version of the software is causing your problem.
On the one hand, these details avoid unnecessary additional consultation on our part and on the other hand, we are able to resolve dependencies correctly and to select the right combination for possible testing. Discover how and where you can find the version information.
When and in what form are version specifications necessary?
Usually it is sufficient to specify the main version (major version). For example GEONIS 5.4 or GEONIS server 2017 Service Pack 1. This information is important regarding the choice of media and the availability of various functions. In addition, the system requirements and compatibilities vary between the main versions. This allows us to quickly determine which media and functions are supported in the concerned software version and which ones are not. We therefore recommend that you notify us about the main version in your support request.
If third-party software is used and this is part of your request, the respective major version is also helpful here. For example:
- ArcGIS 10.6.1
- FME Desktop 2019.1
- MS SQL Server 2019
- Java OpenJDK 11
If there are irregularities in a product with a large selection of builds (e.g. WebOffice), or if there are variations within an extension, a complete specification of the version including build number may be necessary, as in the example:
- Windows 10 Build 17134
- WebOffice 10.6 R2 SP2 20190709
- GEONIS View 5.5.0.110
- GEONIS Module Profile NG 2.2.441.11802
Where are the respective version details to be found?
A basic distinction is made between desktop and server/web applications. All other components fall into the third party software category (e.g. Java).
The following overview is provided to help you find the version information:

In the cadastral survey solution it is also interesting to know whether a cantonal solution is involved or not. The version of FME is important for cases involving GEONIS Dataconverter (see third-party providers).
For details on GeonisServerSOE and MapServiceConnector, see Site > Extensions in the ArcGIS Server Manager.
In the Windows software overview, you can find information about the version of GEONIS Web Adaptor.

The interface of the Geocom License Server Administrator shows the version directly in the title bar.
The version is also visible in the Tomcat Manager.
