Solar systems and solar power are becoming more affordable, making it an attractive alternative for many households. Therefore, the number of decentralized energy generation plants will rise sharply in the future. Being responsible for the reliability of supply, local grid operators have to regulate the electrical connections to the network and verify network stability for new connections.
With the GEONIS Network Calculation module, the network electrician/network planner of the utility company can easily and quickly provide technically sound information and directly verify and approve connection requests for photovoltaic systems.
Web-based solution - Easy to use
With the GEONIS Network Calculation module, the algorithms for analyzing and optimizing utility networks from the calculation software NEPLAN are controlled directly via a service. Entering data in the WebGIS interface is lean and easy to do. Application knowledge of the network calculation software is not necessary to verify a connection. All calculation results are available directly in the GIS.
Grid connection request – reliable and simple calculation
GEONIS Network Calculation enables connection requests to be verified and approved directly using a web application. The map defines the planned connection with its technical information. The results of the network calculation according to the DACH-Z standard are then displayed directly in the web application. Do the generated voltage fluctuations maintain or exceed the allowed tolerance of 3%? The user receives the answer as easy-to-understand information.
Providing information – documenting approved connections
The aim of the calculations is to verify compliance with all limit values and/or to determine suitable measures to ensure the requirements. The calculation results and granted permissions can be docu-mented and reported with the GEONIS Reporting Module.
Identifying network expansion, calculating variants
If requests to connect to the network cannot be permitted, the information obtained will help to plan investments in the existing network. From the web application, a NEPLAN project with all the necessary information for expert planning can be transferred directly to NEPLAN.
GIS data - The data basis for the network calculation
The network and system data maintained in the GIS as well as the topological mapping of the network serve as the basis for the calculations.
The analyses are based on the most up-to-date database of network documentation. Well-maintained network documentation with high data consistency represents an important investment in the future. The increasing use of GIS data in different applications requires high quality data.
With GEONIS Network Calculation, most connection requests from decentralized energy generation plants can be processed and documented in a short time. Please contact us for a personal consultation.
