Mobile offline GIS application
In order to plan lighting for the public lighting system in Burgdorf, Localnet AG puts its trust in GEONIS gear when it comes to support for field surveys.
The public lighting (street lights) will be updated in the town of Burgdorf over the next few years, by replacing the old lights with modern LEDs luminaires. Field surveys have taken place in some areas in order to define the details for this upgrade. During these field surveys, information on the light bodies as well as supplies for the lights must be provided in a swift yet uncomplicated manner.
Thanks to GEONIS gear, existing GIS data can be carried to field on a tablet. The selected representation corresponds to the specific task and you can see which light is being used at a glance. Detailed information can be displayed in order using the attribute forms. The interior of routes (i.e. tubes and cables) can be queried using the route info tool. Indeed, all necessary information is just a few clicks away.
With GEONIS gear, the most important information is available in the field in a fast and user-friendly manner.
“With GEONIS gear, we have a user-friendly offline GIS at our disposal, which has now made a name for itself in various areas. It provides information at the point it is needed. Regardless of whether this is needed for updating public lighting, in the case of construction meetings, in the event of faults or as a backup for network failure scenarios.”
