Universal Software Inc. is the new company name of Geocom added value reseller in Turkey. Since 2010, Universal has successfully delivered and implemented GIS/GEONIS based solutions mainly in the energy sector, electricity and gas. Today more than 50% of the energy market is using GEONIS for network documentation and network asset management. The latest contract Universal signed with the company OSMANGAZI ELEKTRIK DAGITIM, with headquarters in the city of Eskisehir approximately 200 km south of Istanbul.

In summer 2017, the management of Universal decided to extend their utility business and added GEONIS Water and Wastewater to their portfolio. After a short period in which the standard products from Geocom have been localized for the Turkish market and internal staff was trained, the first project opportunities could already be identified. In Turkey, the construction, documentation and maintenance of water and waste water infrastructure is the responsibility of municipalities. By the end of 2017, two EU funded projects in the south east of turkey at the municipality Ercis, (Project name: Van) and Siverek (Project name: Sanliurfa) could be successfully acquired, realized and put into production. Both municipalities provide water and waste water service to more than a million people! Meanwhile a third project at the municipality of Sanliurfa has been acquired and the implementation started early January 2018.

Ercis and Siverek are in production and each of the implementations show a very interesting ROI. Meanwhile, Universal does have a long list of interesting opportunities and are confident that they will realize further interesting water and waste water projects in 2018.
